The Gardening and baking files from Butts Green!

February 2, 2015

Have you noticed the days getting a little longer? or the first bulbs emerging?

Spring will be with us soon and it will be that time again to decide what to grow or what to sow. Growing from seed is a great way to achieve a great floral display or a great crop for half the cost.  Within your selection try and make room for climbing french bean "Cobra", Pea "Little Marvel" and why not try something a little different this year "The Cucuamelon" from the James Wong range.

At Butts Green Garden Centre you can purchase all these highly recommended varieties as we have a great selection of seeds that have just arrived!

Buy your seed potatoes at Butts Green Garden Centre and plant as soon as possible.

Chilt the tubers by placing them "eye" end up in a tray or TIP.... in egg boxes in a light, cool, frost free place.

Over the next few weeks we have lots of new deliveries to look forward to...  David Austin and Celebration Roses, Potted bulbs, a great range of contemporary and traditional style pots, a new bird care range, a rare and unusual selection of trees, new gift lines! just to mention a few...

Not forgetting our cosy cafe with roaring log fire, sleeping ginger cat,  and delicious home made cakes, specials, brunches, afternoon tea and lots more...
