Hello to all our customers. Thank you for taking the time to read our monthly blog. It's now July and the garden centre is looking blooming lovely!! The Roses are looking magnificent, the Dahlias are standing proud and the Clematis are growing like wild fire!
On Thursday 19th June 20 ladies from a local “Tangent” group joined us for an evening at “Butts Green”. They enjoyed Ploughman’s supper, coffee and cake followed by a demonstration/presentation on “Border design” all set amongst all the beautiful plants. Afterwards they enjoyed browsing and shopping in the garden centre by twilight. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all!.

We still have a great selection of perennials, trees, shrubs, David Austin roses and lots more. Tip….. Don’t forget to start weekly feeding your basket, pots, veg, and borders. For information on what best fertilisers to use pop in and get some advice!.

Butts Green Café is the perfect place to meet on a warm sunny day. Theres nothing better than to enjoy one of our freshly made salads, sandwiches and freshly baked cakes chatting with friends amongst beautiful surroundings.
Recipe of the Month.
Summer vegetable soup with lemon and thyme.
1 white onion (diced)
1 red pepper (diced)
1 yellow pepper (diced)
3 medium carrots (diced)
2 medium courgettes (diced)
2 pints vegetable stock
½ lemon zest (grated)
Salt and pepper
Lightly sauté onion in a small drop of olive oil in a frying pan. Add carrot fry lightly for 10 mins. Add remaining ingredients. Cook for further 5 mins.
Transfer to a large saucepan and add vegetable stock. Simmer gently for 15-20 minutes. Season to taste and add a few sprigs of Thyme for the garnish. Serve with fresh walnut bread!….A perfect hearty summer dish!
